AFTER CHEMICAL PEELS INSTRUCTIONS
The following after-care instructions are intended for every client who has had a chemical peel at Atlanta Eye Candy:
-
Immediately following a peel, take extra precaution to guard against exposure to the sun. 30SPF and large brimmed hat (not a visor or ball cap).
-
First night, do not wash face at all.
-
Days 2 through 6, avoid harsh cleansers and scrubs (check the ingredients in products before using). Do not use scrubbing brushes, washcloths, Retin–A, AHA’s, or Benzoyl Peroxide. You want to avoid any additional acids introduced to the face so as not to incur an adverse reaction.
-
Pat skin dry/do not rub.
-
DO NOT PICK OR PULL THE SKIN, as scarring and hyperpigmentation (brown spots) can occur.
-
Apply over-the-counter Aquaphor on treated areas to minimize redness.
-
Avoid wearing makeup for more aggressive peels for 3 days.
-
Avoid strenuous exercise (hot yoga) with aggressive peels as sweat gets trapped under the skin, leaving little water bubbles.
-
Do not have any other facial treatments/procedures for at least one week after the peel or until flaking stops.
-
Not everyone will experience peeling of their facial skin. However, this is not an indication that the peel was ineffective. If peeling does not occur, please know that you are still receiving all the benefits of the peel, such as stimulation of collagen production, improvement of skin tone and texture, and diminished fine lines and pigmentation.

Respond to follow up calls from spa.
