Swedish

The term “Swedish Massage” refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. It is used especially for relaxation, relief of muscular tension, and improvement of circulation and range of motion.

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue Massage is a massage in which the therapist uses slower strokes and more pressure than would be used in a Swedish Massage. Hands, fingers, thumbs, and elbows are used to release chronic muscle tension using slow, deep strokes and friction; the therapist may work perpendicularly to the length of the fibers of the superficial muscles, with the intent of massaging muscle that lies underneath.

Neuromuscular (NMT)

Neuromuscular therapy is a specialized form of deep tissue massage in which digital pressure and friction are used to release areas of strain in the muscle. These areas of strain are called tender or trigger points and are the cause of muscular pain symptoms.

Reflexology

Did you know that the bottom of your feet could affect what’s going on in other areas of your body? On each foot, there are over 7,000 nerve endings called reflexes that correspond to every organ and system within your body. By pressing on these reflex points, you stimulate the nervous system and open energy pathways that may be blocked or congested.

Sport

Is a form of bodywork geared toward participants in athletics. It is used to help prevent injuries, prepare the body for athletic activity, maintain it in optimal condition, and help athletes recover from workouts and injuries. 60 min. $145

Prenatal

Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness.

Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches, and edema (or swelling).  In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension — which aids in better sleep — and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes. 60 min. $145
