BEFORE CHEMICAL PEELS INSTRUCTIONS

Clients with a history of herpes must pre-medicate with Valtrex.

Clients with active cold sores or warts wounded or sunburned skin is contraindicated.

Clients with a history of allergies, rashes or other skin reactions may be sensitive to treatment.

Clients with allergies to salicylates (i.e., aspirin) or shellfish may be allergic to certain peels.

Clients that have taken Accutane or received Chemotherapy or radiation therapy within the past year should receive prior authorization from their physician.

Clients with vitiligo should not receive chemical peels.

Clients with a history of auto-immune disease or any condition that weakens the immune system should check with their physician before receiving a peel.

Stopping Retin-A “Tretinoin, Tazorac, Differin, Triluma, Renova” to name a few, four days’ prior before peel is optimal.

If you just had Botox or injectable fillers, it is fine to have a peel immediately after.

Wait a week before or after having facial hair removal (waxing, laser hair removal/electrolysis, and depilatory creams).

Advise skin care therapist of any skin conditions (psoriasis, eczema, rosacea).

If you have a special event, like a wedding, do not receive any kind of facial or peel treatments for two weeks prior to this event.
